Cloud Solution Architect - SQL Server & BI

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Solution Architect to design, implement, and optimize cloud-based solutions leveraging Microsoft technologies and open-source databases. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure SQL/SQL Server, and open-source database platforms, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing architectures for enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Architecture:

Develop end-to-end cloud architecture solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure services.
Design and implement data analytics platforms leveraging Microsoft Fabric Power BI for advanced reporting and visualization.

Database Management:
Architect and optimize Azure SQL/SQL Server solutions for high availability and performance.
Integrate and manage open-source databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) within Azure environments.

Cloud Strategy & Governance:
Define best practices for cloud adoption, security, and compliance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align cloud solutions with business objectives.

Performance Optimization:
Ensure scalability and reliability of cloud-based applications and data platforms.
Implement monitoring and automation for proactive performance management.

Technical Leadership:

Provide guidance to development and operations teams on cloud architecture principles.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.

Technical Requirements

Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Fabric Power BI expertise.
Strong experience with Azure SQL and SQL Server administration and optimization.
Proficiency in open-source databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) hosted on Azure.
Solid understanding of cloud security, data governance, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with Azure services (Data Factory, Synapse, Storage, Networking).

Preferred Skills

Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and analytics solutions.
Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and solution design.
Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Power BI Data Analyst) are a plus
