Job Title: Business Intelligence (BI) Developer
Contract Type: 6-Month Contract

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our team on a 6-month remote contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that deliver actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

This role requires strong technical expertise in data warehousing, ETL development, data modelling, and dashboard creation, along with the ability to engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain BI reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
• Gather and analyse business requirements from stakeholders.
• Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes for data integration and transformation.
• Create and maintain data models, data marts, and data warehouses.
• Build interactive dashboards and visualisations using modern BI tools.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting solutions.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance and data quality issues.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of data governance and reporting standards.
• Produce technical documentation and user training materials.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the BI function.

Required Skills & Experience

Business Intelligence & Reporting

• Strong experience developing BI solutions using:

  • Microsoft Power BI

  • Tableau
  • Qlik Sense (desirable)
• Expertise designing interactive dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting.

Data & Database Technologies

• Advanced SQL development skills.
• Experience working with:

  • SQL Server

  • Azure SQL Database
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL
• Strong understanding of relational databases and data modelling techniques.

Data Warehousing & ETL

• Experience designing and maintaining data warehouses.
• Strong ETL/ELT development experience using:

  • SSIS

  • Azure Data Factory
  • Informatica
  • Talend (desirable)
• Understanding of Star Schema and Snowflake Schema methodologies.

Cloud Technologies

• Experience working with one or more cloud platforms:

  • Microsoft Azure

  • AWS
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Knowledge of cloud-based analytics solutions and data platforms.

Programming

• Experience with:

  • SQL

  • DAX
  • Power Query
  • Python (desirable)
  • R (desirable)

Essential Experience

• 5+ years of Business Intelligence development experience.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Ability to work independently within a remote team.

Desirable Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
• Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate.
• Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP).
• Relevant cloud platform certifications.
